My name is Ben Fink, and I'm a 15-year-old freshman at the Ethical Culture Fieldston School in New York City. I have been coding for more than 8 years, and I am proficient in object-oriented programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, and Java. I am also skilled in frontend and web development, with experience working at software companies as well as doing web design and operations for nonprofit organizations. I am the Chief of Operations, Financials and Technology at A Spark to Inspire, a nonprofit organization based in the New York City Metropolitan Area that provides entertainment and activities for hospitalized children. Aside from using my technological expertise to support the nonprofit, I also use my knowledge of investment and resource management as well as my team leadership skills to lead the financial and company operations departments. I have a passion for computer science and programming, and I'm glad to have the opportunity to share my projects with the world.
Taskly Productivity is a website built to allow you to make the most of the precious time you have to get things done. A productivity hub of sorts, the website allows users to perform many necessary tasks for studying and working, such as setting timers and alarms, jotting down quick notes, and creating task lists. Users can also listen to music samples from Apple Music and read top stories from The New York Times, all on one sleek and well-designed webpage. A Spark to Inspire is a compassionate New York-based nonprofit dedicated to illuminating the hospital experience for children. We deliver thoughtfully crafted activity kits and engaging entertainment to young patients across the New York metropolitan area, sparking joy and curiosity. Our mission is to empower these children to explore their passions and nurture their intellectual and emotional development, bringing light and hope to their courageous battles.
Fieldston Calculator, one of my legacy projects, was my first coding project and the first time I began to explore the aspects of web design. It features a grade calculator with multiple different modes as well as a basic calculator.
